Gary Mason: Principal Landscape ArchitectAs the Principal Landscape Architect and founder of Sanctuary Landscape Architecture, Gary Mason’s commitment to developing sustainable and transformational spaces guides every design exploration. Gary recognizes that outdoor spaces, even the smallest pocket garden, convey a true spirit of place. This understanding, balanced with artistry, craftsmanship, and environmental sensitivity, allows Gary to respond mindfully to clients’ needs and desires, and to the architecture informing these outdoor spaces.

Gary became fascinated with sustainability as a founding member of the Organic Farm Project at the University of California Santa Cruz. He then earned a Bachelor’s of Landscape Architecture and Finance and a Master’s of Urban Design from Arizona State University. After collaborating with renowned Landscape Architects Christy Ten Eyck Gary and Calvin Abe, Gary launched Sanctuary Landscape Architecture in 2006.
