Small Backyard Sanctuary
The clients of this residence wanted their back yard to become a Sanctuary. They wanted it become an extension of their family room and patio which faced out on it. This would be a place that would draw them outside to relax, sun, hang out, or read a book. In addition they wanted it to provide a place to entertaining and bar-b-que. The primary obstacle to for this project was the backyards rather small size. The stacked stone water feature provides the primary focus to draw people into the sanctuary while providing a visual backstop to the space. The matching stacked stone firepit provides a center point for the space that people can hang out around. The high vine covered trellises that surround the sanctuary provide a sense of privacy and intimacy. Dramatic lighting makes the space come alive at night
